RAWALPINDI: (Parliament Times) A poetry recital entitled “Bayad-e-Iqbal” was arranged to observe the death anniversary of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal under auspices of Adal Foundation in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council. The ceremony was presided over by Prof Baqir Waseem and educationist Hira Chohan was chief guest at the occasion which was anchored by Zohaib Raza and Junaid ul Haq. The poets who paid tremendous tribute to Dr Allama Iqbal through poetry were Irfan Khani, Tehseen Younis, Nafees Farooq, Seeba Mirza, Iqra Ali, and Sadaqat Tahir. Senior intellectual Saheer Syalvi threw light on teachings of Allama Iqbal and termed his poetry a torch bearer to the young generation. Young singer Tausaeef Butt also sang the poetry of Dr Allama Iqbal. President Adsal Foundation Muhammad Furqan thanked the distinguished guests. Shields were also distributed among poets at the end of the ceremony.
