Lahore: Accountability Court (AC) Lahore has indicted PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz in Ramzan Sugar Mills reference.
However, both leaders pleaded not guilty.
Charges of misuse of power and illegal use of public funds have been imposed against both leaders.
AC judge Najam-ul-Hassan took up the Ashiana Iqbal and Ramzan Sugar Mills reference for hearing on Tuesday.
Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz appeared before the court.
During the course of hearing, NAB Counsel took the plea that Hamza Shehbaz and Shehbaz Sharif should be indicted in Ramzan Sugar Mills reference.
Judge while inquiring from NAB Counsel remarked, “What is Ramzan sugar mills reference?
NAB Prosecutor Waris Ali Janjua replied that public money was used in the construction of bridges of Ramzan Sugar Mills.
On it Shehbaz Sharif said that NAB has filed wrong cases.
Judge observed, “You should wait and must speak on your turn”.
Shehbaz Sharif observed, “Allah Almighty knows that I have saved 2300 billion rupees since the last 10 years. I did nothing in this bridge and I also did not misuse public money .
However, court has indicted Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz who pleaded not guilty of the charges.
It is vital to mention here that a day before front man of Sharif family and manager of Ramzan Sugar mills Muhammad Mushtaq Cheeni was arrested at Lahore airport while attempting to flee to Dubai.
