KARACHI: Supreme Court (SC) has declared illegal appointments of over 70 teachers besides rejecting the teachers plea for their reinstatement.

A two members bench of SC Karachi registry comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmad and Justice Munib Akhtar took up for hearing case pertaining to recruitment of over 70 teachers of various subjects including drawing, physical training and others Wednesday.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked the entire process of appointment of teachers is illegal.

Mujib Pirzada counsel for teachers took the plea this procedure of recruitment of teachers was followed in the entire Sindh and the recruitment made in December 2011 were in line with law. The tribunal declared the appointments illegal without reviewing educational certificates.

The court remarked “ we will see those matters too in accordance with law when they come before us.

Mujib Pirzada argued that Islam ordains “ Mazdoor ko mazdoori paseena khushk honey se pehle de do.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked “ there lies a procedure in Islam for recruiting laborers. No test or interview was held by the recruitment committee but the teachers were appointed. The entire process for appointing teachers was based on malafide intent.

Additional Advocate General Ghulam Sarwar Khan said federal service tribunal already has declared recruitments of teachers illegal. The teachers were appointed on fake documents. Chief minister Sindh has withdrawn notification of recruitment of teachers.
