ISLAMABAD: Minister for water resources Faisal Vawda has said Senate Special Committee is not authorized to summon him.
“Senate special committee has no powers to summon me. No letter has been received by me from committee. I respect parliamentary committees”, he said this while talking to a private TV channel.
Vawda held that he highly respected parliamentary committees. “ I try to take part in every meeting. However some time it becomes impossible for me to participate in the meeting due to National Assembly session or some other reason.
Despite the fact that I inform the committee, some time the message does not reach the committee for want of contacts, he remarked.
This was first meeting of special committee following the election of chairman, therefore, 4 months old matter was raised, he said adding he could not attend a meeting of standing committee for water resources 4 months back and later he had been attending every meeting regularly.
