NEW YORK: UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres has welcomed Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan announcement for releasing captured Indian pilot.
UN General Secretary said that the announcement for releasing Indian pilot is highly appreciable.
UN Spokesperson said that UN General Secretary has remained in contact with Pakistan and India at different levels. Both the countries and the international community should take steps for defusing tension.
According to Spokesperson UN General Assembly president Maria Espinosa has also expressed grave concern over tension between Pakistan and India saying the solution to problems lies only in dialogue.
During joint session of both the houses of parliament Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced to release captured Indian pilot and this move is being lauded all over the world. On the other side Russia has also offered to mediate between Pakistan and India.
