Islamabad: Center for Central Asia and Eurasian Studies, an initiative of Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPD), organized a seminar on International Initiatives of the President of Kazakhstan: Global and Regional Successes where in Mr. Ehsan ul llah Tiwana, Chairman Standing Committee of Parliament on Foreign Affairs, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Ms. Farhat Asif, founder President of IPD presented the vision of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan what he took to foster regional and global peace and stability. She has also shared with the house about various presidential initiatives towards global peace including creation of Global Anti-Terrorist Coalition to make world free of terrorism and extremism.

Dr. Ismailov Murat the counselor of Kazakhstan embassy of Islamabad presented the vision of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan what he took to foster regional and global peace and stability. Kazakhstan has completed non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council. For two years, the country has made every effort to strengthen the position of the UN Security Council. From January 1, 2018, during the month the delegation of Kazakhstan led the work of the main UN body – the UN Security Council.

Kazakhstan, being the first Central Asian state elected to the UN Security Council, during its chairmanship continued actively promoting the interests of all states of region. Kazakhstan membership was carried out in accordance with the Political Address of President Nazarbayev to the UN Security Council called “The Conceptual Vision of Kazakhstan for Strengthening the Global Partnership for Building a Safe, Fair and Prosperous World”

Dr. Muhammad Khan, Head of Department of Political Sciences IIUI, explained about the diplomatic and political efforts of Kazakhstan towards domestic, regional especially in Afghanistan and seeking reforms in United Nations Security Council. Dr. Adam Saud, a professor of Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, also spoke to the audience regarding concrete steps taken by Kazakhstan to facilitate peace in Ukraine, Syria and Afghanistan.

While speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest, Mr. Ehsan Ullah Tiwana said that Pakistan and Kazakhstan share commonalities of interest and having deep rooted historical relations wherein Pakistan always appreciate the peace and development efforts of Kazakhstan at regional and global level.

The audience include the Ambassadors and Diplomats from the regional countries and academicians, research scholars, media and others members of the Civil society.
