RAWALAKOT: (Parliament Times) The chief conservator forests Raja Aurangzeb Khan says all measures would be taken for success of spring tree plantation drive.

He was talking to officials of his department and others after planting a sapling in forest complex Rawalakot, as part of tree plantation drive on Friday. There is need of creating awareness among people on how trees are important for our lives he added and said not only people should actively take part in tree plantation drive but also protect well the planted saplings.

He told the people gathered there that people of all shades of live are being involved in spring tree plantation campaign including armed forces and male and female students of educational institutions. Protection of forests is not only responsibility of employees of forests department but also people of the area, he stated. He said people of all regions should inform the forests officials in case of any emergency like fire or cutting down of this national wealth illegally so it could be controlled well in time.

Talking on the occasion deputy commissioner Poonch Shaukat Yousufzai who also planted a sapling, said forests employees are discharging their duties diligently. He also underscored the need of creating awareness among people regarding protection of forests. He assured that district administration would extend its full cooperation with forests department for the success of tree plantation drive. People of the area he said should cooperate with forest department in their efforts for planting maximum number of saplings and their protection.
