Lashari: Government Boys Primary School of Ali Muhammad Lashari village UC Razzaqabad has been in a dangerous and dilapidated condition due to the lack of SMC funds for it. The dilapidated condition of the School has triggered a high level student dropout.

“Many students are not coming school because of its dangerous state and many of students who can afford have left the school and joined private schools and other students have left their studies”, sources said adding that the strength of the school has reduced to just hundred students.

The situation of the school so worse that it can collapse any time, there is no facilities are in school, no furniture for students to sit and no electricity, no water facility and its boundary wall is cracked completely, the class rooms are also in cracked condition and students are taught on the ground.

The future of students is at great risk as there is only one teacher named Muhammad Rafiq Balouch who teaches the students and rest of teachers are out of touch.

Baluch a senior teacher in the school told this correspondent that no facility or progressive scheme is provided to their school. SMC fund he said has not been given to School for last 4 years and teachers who were appointed in 2012 and sent to school for teaching were also not provided salaries that’s why the teachers are absent from School.

He said that previous MPA Muhammad Sajjid Jokhio inaugurated two new class rooms in 2008 which he said were in worst conditions because of the use of substandard material. At present he said that the school has only two rooms in use which are also cracked. “I have time and again written applications to Noor Muhammad Solangi but he is not interested to solve the problems and when ever I tried to meet him regarding school issues he refused and made lame excuses”, the senior teacher said adding that he has sent applications to Education Department, Director Primary schools Karachi and works and development regarding schools damaged building in order to rebuild it but there was no response.

He further said that he has submitted applications even at nearly police station and Deputy Commissioner Officer. More over he said that in the rainy weather he had no option but to shutdown the school as rain waters enters in the class rooms through the cracked roof.

Journalist Shahzado Mastoi said, “The condition of the school is so bad that it can fall down any time but education department is not taking responsibility well for such type of schools and it looks that education department is waiting for an incident”.

People of Ali Muhammad Lashari village have said that they get worried about their children when they go school because of its dangerous condition”. The people of the village have demanded the local MNA NA-236 and MPA PS-90 and concerned higher authorities to take immediate action in order to save the future of their children.
