LAHORE:  The AJK Minister for Information and Tourism Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas called on former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lakhpat jail on Thursday.

Minhas commended the courage of former Prime Minister, his, what he called remarkable sacrifices for democracy and his historic steps for growth and development of the country and welfare of its people. He told him that entire Kashmiri nation gets sad at the news of his deteriorating health. Minhas also lauded the struggle of Maryam Nawaz. Assuring Sharif full solidarity and support from people of AJK he said Kashmiris were praying for his health and returning to power.

Sharif reciprocating the feelings of Minhas said that people of AJK were real asset to him. Expressing his gratitude, he said people of Azad Kashmir showed their love and support to him and continuously expressed solidarity with him. It was people’s affection with him (Sharif) that they overwhelmingly gave mandate to PML-N in AJK. They again stand at his back at a time when he was being victimized, he added.

Sharif asked Minhas to work for welfare of people of Azad Kashmir with more passion and dedication under the leadership of Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan. He said he had suffered all the excesses and injustices with patience for his nation. He was of the view that days are numbered for those who insulted the people’s votes through fake mandate. Sharif urged PML-N workers and supporters to evolve unity among their ranks and files and move ahead under political discipline. He vowed to continue his role for progress and prosperity of the country. Expressing profound love for the people of IHK Sharif said he was grateful to people of Srinagar who had been consistenly praying for his health and returning to power.
