ISLAMABAD: A thick blanket of fog has continued to engulf plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Sunday.
The visibility has dropped to zero metres in parts of Punjab and KP while motorway has also been closed at various points in order to avoid road mishaps.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), dense/shallow foggy conditions are likely to continue in plains of Punjab, upper Sindh and Peshawar division during morning/night hours.
Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts, while very cold weather in northern parts of the country. Frost is also expected in upper parts of the country during morning hours.
PMD has predicted partly cloudy weather in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Motorway police have advised the drivers to switch on fog lights while driving at very slow speed as the visibility was dropped to zero metres due to dense fog.
The Motorway police have also requested the people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling as visibility was down to zero metres due to heavy fog.
