KARACHI: Supreme Court (SC) has ordered for continuing anti-encroachment drive in Karachi.
Provincial government review petition pertaining to operation against encroachments in Karachi came up for hearing in SC Karachi registry Wednesday.
Mayor Karachi, Waseem Akhtar, advocate general Sindh and other government officials appeared in the court.

Earlier during the course of hearing of the case Tuesday Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar had directed federal and provincial governments and mayor Karachi to sit together and take decision about operation against encroachments and file a plan before the court on this count.
The court was informed about consensus plan by federal, provincial governments and city government on operation against encroachments.
The three parties agreed in the report filed in the court for continuing anti encroachment drive in city.
The court ordered for continuing the operation against encroachments in the city. The court also ordered that advance notice for 45 days instead of 15 days be given to houses and markets located on amenity plots.
