Rawalpindi: (PR) Anti Narcotics Force Commanders Conference was held at Headquarters ANF Rawalpindi under the chairmanship of Director General Major General Musarrat Nawaz Malik HI (M). The conference was attended by Commanders of all ANF Regional Directorates and Senior Staff Officers.
During the conference, DG ANF highlighted the emerging trends of use of synthetic drugs, underlining it as a grave threat requiring special measures. He urged to ensure strict and speed up ongoing countrywide counter-narcotics operations, with a continued special focus on apprehension of elements involved in distribution of drugs among the students of academic institutions and hostels. He also directed to take measures for apprehension of absconders and proclaimed offenders. DG ANF reviewed the progress of counter-narcotics operations and stressed on proactive and innovative steps for curbing drug trafficking and apprehension of sources of supply of drugs.
Moreover, matters pertaining to enforcement, intelligence, assets investigation, prosecution, mass awareness, finance, administration and infrastructure development were widely discussed, during the conference futuristic goals were also set-forth, paying special concentration on new initiatives and capacity building goals.
After the Force Commanders Conference, the Change of Command Ceremony was also held at HQ ANF. The ceremony was attended by ex-DG ANF, new DG ANF, Force Commanders, officers and officials of ANF. During the conference ex DG ANF Major General Musarrat Nawaz Malik HI (M) handed over the Command Cane of the department to new DG ANF Major General Muhammad Arif Malik HI (M). Major General Muhammad Arif Malik HI (M) presented ANF Flag (Souvenir) to Major General Musarrat Nawaz Malik HI (M).
Ex DG ANF Major General Musarrat Nawaz Malik addressed the gathering and presented brief account of achievements of ANF during his command. he expressed that he will always pray for the progress of ANF and assured that the department will advance in the command of new DG who has joined the force with fresh zeal and enthusiasm.
