Karachi: As many as 6 residents of Pakistan Quarters Karachi have been injured in aerial firing and baton charging by police during the protest staged by them against their eviction from quarters.
On Wednesday, following the order of court police reached Pakistan Quarters area of Karachi in connection with eviction of residents from quarter but the protesters started pelting stones on police officers. In retaliation police also used water cannons and resorted to shelling and baton charging protestors due to which six people got injured.

The protestors having been infuriated climbed up roof tops of their houses and started pelting more stones on police besides chanting anti government slogans.

They have appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice.
Late night residents of Pakistan Quarters came out from their houses against the possible operation for their eviction from government houses. Men, women and children took part in protest. Residents staged protest on which political leaders also reached at Pakistan Quarters to express their solidarity with residents.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar, Kunwar Naveed Jamil and Amir Khan has demanded that quarters be not got vacated from the residents. . After the incident MQM leader Farooq Sattar reached his constituency
Talking to media he said that it is a conspiracy against federal and provincial government to get vacate government quarters.
He said, “I have informed Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Imran Ismail about police violence .
While talking to Journalist Imran Khan said, “We are standing with the residents of Pakistan Quarters, and we appeal to Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice.”
When Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI) MPA Jamal Saddique reached protest venue , Protestors started chanting anti-government slogans. Protestors said that they are possessing certificate of ownership.
Pakistan Quarters residents said, “We don’t want change like this, they didn’t vote for their eviction from their homes.”
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah talked to Commissioner Sindh on telephone regarding this incident and ordered him while summoning report of this incident that “what is happening with these innocent people. Solve this matter immediately, it is causing immense inconvenience to public.”
