Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has chalked out a plan to beautify the Metropolitan City in order to upgrade its outlook.
A sum of 1% of the overall development budget of Rawalpindi District will be allocated for the beatification process of the city. It was decided in a meeting of RDA chaired by Provincial Minister for Law, Raja Basharat.
Buildings, walls along Murree and Rawal Road and Metro Track will be got painted in the first place.
Number of traffic signals will be reduced and gymnasiums will be made functional. A sum of Rs 90 million will be spent on upgrading and making gymnasiums functional.
Parks and Horticulture Agency (PHA) Chairman Raja Asif Mehmood and MPA Wasiq Qayum, said during the meeting that the cultural heritage of Punjab will be exhibited on the walls alongside Murree Road.
Services of Renowned Architect Sardar Azam Rashid has been sought in order to beautify the buildings alongside of Murree Road from Murreed Chowk to Faizabad Interchange.
The Provincial Minister has assured the meeting of provision of resources for the campaign.
