Islamabad: Balochistan Irrigation Department has received two Truck-Mounted Water Well Drilling Rigs with the procurement assistance from the Governmentof Japan.
The project under Economic Social Development Programme in the Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA), has aimed to improve the living standard of the people of Balochistan through the procurement of the water well drilling rigs that cost is 231,250,000 Japanese Yen (approximately 2.1 million US dollars).
The ceremony was held at the Balochistan Canal Irrigation Division office in Hub to mark the handing over of the equipment. It was attended by . Toshikazu Isomura, the Consul General of Japan in Karachi, . Muhammad Saleem Awan, Secretary Government of Balochistan, Irrigation Department.
Isomura, Counsul General of Japan in Karachi acknowledged the continuous efforts of the Balochistan provincial government to implement various project for the improvement of the living standard of its people. “It is a great pleasure for me to be here today and I am pleased to share with you that the Government of Japan would continue to support the Government of Pakistan in its efforts to improve the socio-economic situation of the country. I hope and wish that this assistance would further strengthen the existing good relation between the two countries..”
