Rawalpindi: The Food Branch officials of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Monday slapped a fine of rupee 75,000 on a Bakery for poor cleanliness and selling mouldy bread, whereas a penalty of 18 thousand rupees have been imposed on different hotels, Refreshments Centers, and Restaurants for substandard cleanliness at their work places.
According to RCB spokesman the food branch officials during a day long operation issued show cause notices to 27 proprietors who he said were running illegal medical business. The inspection team also collected food samples of 22 edible items from various eateries and sent them to laboratory for testing.
On the other hand the RCB’s anti-encroachment drive is going on unabated in the city. According to RCB spokesman Qaisar Mehmood, the anti-encroachment team had seized 6 truck loads of different items from vendors and shop keepers who have illegally setup their stalls on roads and pathways or encroached upon streets at different areas including Sadar, Gowal Mandi, Chuhar Chowk, Misrayal and surrounding areas.
