Stresses the need for removing sense of deprivation of people of Sirari on priority basis
Hajira:(Parliamnt Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that his government was committed to its agenda of development and prosperity all across the liberated territory.
Addressing a public gathering at Sirari Darikot village in Hajira Halqa No 2 the AJK PM assured the residents of the area that all out efforts would be made to address their issues on priority basis. Urging the masses to reject those who have betrayed them in the past the prime minister said that the PML-N government in the region will uphold and continue late Khan Bahadur Khan’s mission of development in the area in letter and spirit. The government he said would not leave the people of Sirari in lurch. “Addressing the issues confronted by the people of Sirari is now government’s prime responsibility”, he said adding that his government would change the destiny of the region. Expressing his dismay over non-provision of long neglected basic amenities to the people in the area the PM said that he was saddened to see the pathetic situation people of the area were trapped in. “The provision of basic health care, access to better education, roads and pure drinking water is the fundamental right of the people”, he said. He said that the incumbent government will utilize all available resources to address the problems faced by the people in the area. The Prime Minister said that government was committed to work for development of backward areas to remove sense of deprivation amongst people living in far-flung and less developed areas of the state. The PM said that he was happy to see that the people of Sirari have stood up for their rights, which he said was their basic right. Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that being prime minister of the state it was his moral obligation to remove the sense of deprivation among the people of the area. He said that it was quite unfortunate that due to lack of school buildings and other facilities children of the area were forced to study under open sky. He said that the girls were not able to pursue their studies due to lack of girls high school or college in the area. He regrettably noted that there was no health care center in the area. The PM urged people to vote for PML-N nominated candidate Sardar Amir Altaf in the bye-elections scheduled to be held on 21 October, so that development work in the area could be initiated in the region without any further delay.
It is worth to mention here that hundreds of people including influential personalities of the area on the occasion announced to join PML-N. Meanwhile, on the assurance of the AJK PM, the All Sirari Association that had earlier announced to boycott elections have withdrawn the boycott call and vowed to support the party in the forthcoming bye-elections. The protest movement chief Sardar Ishaq and Sardar Saqib Shaheen along with their colleagues have announced their vote and support to PML-N candidate.
Besides the AJK PM the election rally was addressed by Ch. M Aziz minister for works and communication, Ch. Yasin Gulshan minister Zakat and Ushr, Education Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, Information Minister Raja Mushtaq Minhas, Deputy speaker Sardar Farooq Tahir, Ejaz Yousuf (advisor to AJK government), PML-N leader Ch. M Rafiq and others.
