Islamabad: (Parliament Times) President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan, has taken notice of the unforeseen death of Usama Arshad, a second-year student of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Mirpur University of Science and Technology, who passed away due to electrocution.
The President – who is also the Chancellor of public sector universities of AJK – in his message expressed his profound grief and condolences over the loss of the precious young life. He said that every possible step will be taken to ensure the safety of all the students.
The President on receiving news of the incident called Vice Chancellor MUST, Prof. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman and inquired into the details of the incident. The President said that a high-level inquiry committee will be formed to fully investigate into the matter and ensure such an incident does not take place in the future.
The student had passed away after coming in contact with a live wire carrying electricity to the adjoining neighbourhood.
