RAWALAKOT: (Parliament Times) The AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has assured that his government would come up to the expectations of people who pinned lots of hopes with it.
Addressing a public rally at Devigali in district Poonch on Friday he said government was aware of its responsibilities and it would fulfill the promises made with the people in 2016 elections. Remembering late K.B. Khan he remarked that the latter was last general of his tribe. He was parliamentarian of first legislative assembly and also the last before he breathed his last. He urged the PML-N workers and supporters to go door to door in constituency-2, work hard during bye elections to garner support for Sardar Amir Altaf who can be a good successor of K.B.Khan and serve the people of his constituency better than other candidates.
“Poonch is land of ghazis and martyrs who liberated it by expelling Mahraja from here with the help of sticks and stones. His government would not ignore the problems faced by the people of this region” he assured. He said he is not making any announcement due to restrictions from election commission but he assures that he would spare no effort to resolve problems of people of this region.
The Prime Minister explained that his government believes in supremacy of rule and merit and added that employment opportunities are being provided to the educated youth purely on merit. “We have appointed honest members of PSC with a retired military general as its chairman to restore the confidence of people on this institute. My government also introduced NTS for appointment of teachers and other staff members in education and other departments to uphold merit and bring well educated youth in different departments of the State” he said.
He claimed that his government introduced transparency and ensured construction and development. No past government could set any such precedence. He said his government brought about vivid reforms in education, health and infrastructure in the state. He cautioned the teachers to make sure their presence in their respective educational institution and improve their efficiency and performance. Those who did not pay proper heed to their duties would be liable to stern disciplinary action.
Lambasting at President Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan he said it is Attique who is responsible for harming his party. He should look into his own performance before raising any finger on my government. He questioned that where was the cheque worth 10 crore rupees that was offered by PPP Chairman Bilawal Zardari Bhutto for the affected people of AJK? He claimed that he got back the powers of the State through constitutional amendment. Those who could not digest it are hurling baseless propaganda against the government.
Mr. Haider said that Devigali is one of the picturesque areas in Poonch which has great potential for tourism. He assured his government would take all possible steps for upgradation of picnic destinations in Poonch.
AJK Deputy Speaker Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tahir, Advisor to President Sardar Ijaz Yousuf, Sardar Amir Altaf and others also spoke on the occasion.
