Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 66% of Pakistanis consider Pakistan’s condition to be much better than it was back in 1947.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people think Pakistan has not progressed much in the last 71 years, while others disagree to this. In your opinion was Pakistan’s condition better in 1947 or is it better now?” In response to this question, 28% said that it was better in 1947, 66% said it is better today while 6% did not know or did not respond to the question.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1468 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, August 20 – August 27, 2018. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
