ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked no one needs to say that Supreme Court (SC) should form its political party.
During the course of hearing of DADOCHA Dam case here Wednesday CJP remarked “ no one needs to say that SC should form its political party. If they have to do politics then they should do it somewhere else. We are giving last warning to the opponents of the dam. These are cases of fundamental rights rather than political. We will not let go this way those who malign the court. The agenda of those who don’t want to see dam in Pakistan should not be completed.
Secretary irrigation told the court agriculture department has to construct dam. Bahria town should extend financial assistance to us.
CJP remarked “ Bahria town is not financer of Punjab government. Real issue pertains to commission on dam. If private company constructs dam then they will get no commission . Think a bit how much vital this dam is for the people of the province.
CJP remarked “ Punjab government should give time frame that they would construct dam upto what time. Chief Minister Punjab should tell DADOCHA dam will take how much time in terms of its construction. Call Chief Minister Punjab on next hearing.
The court while ordering Punjab government to provide time frame on construction and completion of dam through proposal adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
