“She was a symbol of resilience against dictatorship”

Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) AJK government declared three days of mourning over the sad demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in AJK. The decision to this effect was taken at AJ&K Cabinet met here on Wednesday, with Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan in the chair.
Cabinet termed the death of Begum Kulsoom as a great loss to the Sharif family and paid homage to struggle of the Begum Kulsoom for the restoration of democracy in the country.
A resolution was passed in a meeting which reads as, ” she was a symbol of resilience against dictatorship, her efforts for restoration of democracy proved fruitful. She was a courageous woman. Her death caused a great loss to the country, the cabinet said.
”She was a companion and visionary politician. She was a humble woman and politician who never used abusive language in her whole political life. She was a role model for other politicians as well, Begum Kulsoom became the first lady of Pakistan in her husband’s three terms as prime minister and she did not get perks and privileges of a first lady.
In another resolution, the AJK cabinet paid tribute to the founder of Pakistan Qaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for his tireless efforts for the creation of Pakistan.
”Quaid-i-Azam is indeed ranked amongst the most visionary politicians and great statesmen of the world. The Quaid successfully led the freedom movement of the Muslims of the Sub-Continent and established the first Islamic ideological state of the world. Freedom Movement is a living testimony to the Quaid’s political insight and visionary leadership, which would continue to be a bright reference point in the history., ” cabinet said.
The entire world is aware of the Quaid’s adherence to his principles. He respected law and constitution all his life and fostered positive values in politics. He imparted such inspiring lessons like unity, faith, and discipline to the Muslims of the Sub-Continent that they enlighten our lives even today, resolution read.
Senior Minister Chaudhary Tariq Farooq, minister for electricity Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan, minister for finance Dr. Najib Naqqi, minister for forests Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, minister for industries Noreen Arif,minister for Auqaf Raja Abdul Qayyum Khan, minister for food Syed Shaukat Ali Shah, minister for education Iftikhar Gillani, Minister for law Chaudhary Javed Akhter, minister for planning and development Waqar Ahmed Noor,Jail minister Chaudhary Muhammad Ishaq, Chaudhary Rukhsar Ahmed & Adviser to PM AJK Chaudhary Shezad Mehmood attended the meeting.
