LAHORE: Information Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has said the PTI government is ready to constitute a commission to probe the alleged rigging in the general elections as per demand of the opposition. In a video message today in response to the news conference addressed by the PML-N leaders in Lahore, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan on the very first day had assured to take all steps on the matter to satisfy the opposition.
He, however, regretted that the opposition is using the issue of election rigging as a political stunt as it has not produced any concrete evidence in this regard. He said it is better for the opposition to sit together and present concrete proposals on the matter. On opposition’s allegation regarding reducing the number of projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Minister said there is no truth in it. The PTI government will complete all projects under CPEC and increase funding for them.
The Information Minister said the government has not increased the prices of fertilizers, electricity and gas as alleged by the opposition.
Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said dams are necessary for storage of water and to save the future generations of Pakistan. He said Pakistani people inside the country and abroad trust Prime Minister Imran Khan and will definitely make financial contributions to the dams fund.
The Information Minister said the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz went to jail in the tenure of PML-N government as they were facing corruption allegations and could not prove the source of their income and assets.
