Rawalpindi: During a meeting under the chairmanship of Secretary Education approval has been accorded for new appointments under NTS of 74 thousand teachers against the vacant positions in the government schools in Punjab.
According to media reports, privatization of government schools is finished and schools will be handed over to the Punjab Education Foundation and a ban has been imposed on the creation of new Danish schools.
The process of new recruitments will start from next month (October). It has also been decided to give BPS 16 to all teachers who are holding degrees of MA, MSc, MEd. Sweepers are compulsory in all primary schools of Punjab.
New teachers will be appointed in BPS 14,15 and 16 and Arts subject teachers will also be appointed.
Age of female teachers will be 20 to 30 years with quota of minority communities and disabled.
Professional education B.Ed is compulsory for new recruitments.
A review has been initiated to evaluate the performance of Education Foundation and Danish schools and a decision on their future will follow based on their reports.
