KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner (DC) West Ms Shadia Jaffer presided over a meeting with regard to the arrangements of civic facilities for the mourners during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram.
Ulema belonging to different schools of thought, organizers of Muharram gatherings and processions attended the meeting held at in the DC West office here, said a statement. Besides Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) district West Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Ahmed Khan, DMC West Vice Chairman Azizullah Afridi, Municipal Commissioner (MC) West Shabi Siddique, Deputy Director Sindh Solid Waste Management Board West, DHO West, KW&SB, K-Electric, Fire Brigade, Rangers and PD Orange Line Project were also present. The DC said arrangements have been made for the cleanliness and repair of sewerage lines around Imambargahs and roads during Muharamul Haram, emphasis was given on cleanliness of roads.
She said Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or contingency plan has been prepared with the suggestions of ulemas. The sewerage lines repair was the responsibility of KWSB road patch work is being done with limited funds and resources. During the meeting scholars and organizers and others expressed their views.
