Islamabad: Federal Government has given the portfolio of Minister of state for interior to Shehryar Khan Afridi while Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has accorded final approval in this regard.
Shehryar Afridi will take the oath of his post before presidential polls.
As per media reports, Federal Government has decided to appoint Shehryar Khan Afridi as a state Minster for Interior after the approval of Imran Khan and the notification in this regard has also been issued.
PM Imran Khan has also directed Shehryar Khan Afridi to look into all matters pertaining to the Ministry of Interior.
It is to be mentioned that a day earlier PM Imran Khan had been given the briefing by Ministry of Interior officials while Afridi was specially invited in the meeting.
Shehryar Afridi from Kohat was elected as a member of National Assembly (NA) on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek e-Insaaf in the previous government.
