Rawalpindi(Daily P.Times): The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday threatened protest demonstration against alleged rigging and thanked the people of Rawalpindi for supporting the party, sources said. They said the party along with taking other measures will also approach court against alleged rigging in the recently held general elections. The threat was given at a press conference held at PML-N NA-62 central office. Senator Chaudhry Tanvir, Senator Tahira Aurangzeb, PML-N Rawalpindi President Sardar Naseem Khan and others were among the speakers. Chaudhry Tanvir said the PML-N thanks the people of Rawalpindi for their support but it is regrettable that people’s mandate was stolen. He said that it was history’s organized rigging and our candidates were not allowed to go inside at the time of counting.
No one was informed at the time of ceiling and opening of the ballet boxes, he said. An armed person was standing by at every box, he said. Tanvir said the issue of form-45 is in the observation of everyone. Like the past, every candidate grabs vote. Chaudhry said in 2000 general elections, Sheikh Rasheed grabbed few votes, in 2008, he grabbed only 15,000 votes and ECP confiscated his security fee whereas NA-62 candidate Barrister Daniyal bagged over 91,000 votes. Chaudhry Tanveer said they are collecting proofs and will soon challenge the credibility of the elections. He said if MPA votes turn out is high then why MNA turn out is low.
Sardar Naseem strongly condemned the alleged rigging in the elections. He said they had won but our workers didn’t allow to go inside polling station.
