Rawalpindi: Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) have decided to carry out tree plantation in graveyards of Rawalpindi .
As per media reports, PHA has decided tree plantation in all graveyards of city under the project to make Rawalpindi Green city.
With reference to this project, the details about the graveyards in the 42 Union Councils of Rawalpindi city and 13 Union Councils of Rawalpindi district have been gathered from Municipal Cooperation Rawalpindi (MC-Rawalpindi).
Regarding this project, Director General PHA Rawalpindi Saif Anwar Jappa said that some space is left in graveyards, Nullah Lai including few highways in the city where plantation of trees can be done, that’s why we want full utilization of these places. With the success of tree plantation campaign not only the city will be beautified more but also environmental pollution be decreased.
“It’s our request to the citizen that they should also try to plant trees in their houses and near places so that neat & clean environment could be provided to the next generation.” he further added.
