Palandari: (Parliament Times) The former Prime Minister and President of Azad Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan has paid eulogizing tributes to veteran spiritual and religious leader Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Qalandar.
Terming his teachings as beacon of light for all Muslims the PPP leader said that the revered saint had spent his entire life in teaching the Islam’s message of brotherhood, interfaith harmony, tolerance, peace and justice. He said that solution to problems faced by humanity at large lies in following the teachings of religion in their real sense and true spirit. Khan said, “Islam is a peaceful religion where there is no place for things like terrorism, extremism and intolerance”. Terming Kashmir as the land of sages and saints he said, “We should spend our lives in accordance with the teachings of great prophet PBUH”. Khan was speaking at a religious function here on Sunday which was held to mark 16th anniversary of Sultan-ul-Aarfeen Qalandar Hazrat Sakhi Sultan at Dawan Sharif in the suburbs of Palandari. At the end of function, special prayers were offered for Muslim Umaah and the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
