Peshawar: Opposition and Government leaders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) have agreed upon the name of Manzoor Afridi as Chief Minister (CM) of KPK for the interim setup.
Opposition and government reached consensus on Manzoor Afridiís name as care taker CM. The Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has approved the name of care taker CM proposed by Opposition Leader Lutfur Rehman.
The formal announcement in this regard is likely to be made today on Sunday.
Earlier, Chief Minister KPK and Opposition leader Lutfur Rehman met to finalize the name for caretaker CM. They both decided finally to nominate Manzoor Afridi as care taker CM of KPK
Manzoor hails from Khyber Agency in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), who belongs to a family of businessmen and is a non-political figure. He is the younger brother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senator Ayub Afridi and uncle of Peshawar Zalmi cricket team owner Javed Afridi.
