Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The President Pakistan People’s Party –AJK chapter Ch. Latif Akbar has said that the budget for FY 2018-19 unveiled by PML-N government offers nothing to ordinary citizens.
“It seems that the government has prepared the budget while sitting in a drawing room, the budget has nothing to do with the problems faced by the common masses as it offers nothing to ordinary citizens”, the PPP president said adding that government has not been able to bring about even a single mega development project in opening financial year. “Salaries of Government employees have been increased but no attention has been paid on the welfare of common masses”, Akbar said. He was of the view that the government has planned to get commissions through contractors whereas millions of children in Earthquake affected areas were forced to study in roofless schools. He said that on one hand government has miserably failed in highlighting Kashmir case at international level while on the other no attention was paid to expose Indian brutalities at international level. During its two-year term he said that PML-N Government could not accomplish any mega project in the region.
He said that due to its incompetence and inefficiency the incumbent government of AJK has miserably failed to consume its development budget. “Many projects are incomplete; patients in hospitals are craving for medicines, staff in schools and dispensaries near LoC is missing and people are wandering from place to place but government lacks proper mechanism and plan to improve the system”, he said adding that the PPP government during its last term in power had established five universities in Azad Kashmir and constructed an international standard road from Kohala to Muzaffarabad.
