MUZAFFARABAD: Terming the statement of Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat about Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) as provocative and offensive Member Kashmir Council Younas Mir on Thursday said that such statement shows that New Delhi military establishment has lost the war in IOK.
Mir said that General Rawat’s present statement reflects that Indian military establishment has kissed the ground before the Kashmiri freedom fighters who have given the world’s fourth largest army a befitting response since 1990.
“ The statement of Indian Army Chief General Bipin that ‘people in IOK will never get freedom’ was an ample proof that Kashmiris struggle is deeply rooted in public that can’t be defeated at any level till the final destination,” said Kashmir Council Member Mir.
Mir further said that history bears witness to the fact that freedom movements have always achieved success against military and Indian Army Chief General Rawat must read the history of the freedom struggle of his own country where British military completely ducked before the people of South Asia in 1947 and achieved the target of freedom.
Mir said that world powers ought to take the notice of Indian Army Chief’s statement against the Kashmiri people who are fighting for their right of self-determination which was approved by the world through the United Nations.
Kashmiris will leave no stone unturned till the final destination of their present freedom struggle that consumed more than one lakh people since 1990 till now.
Mir said that Kashmiris believe in peaceful settlement of Kashmir dispute to bring peace and security in South Asia however, saying that Indian military establishment must keep in mind that peoples movements in world were never defeated through guns and military brains.
If India is really since to bring peace and prosperity in the region then New Delhi must settle Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Member Kashmir Council Mir further said that people in IOK will continue to come out and break the cordons of the Indian forces to save their freedom fighters while breaking siege and search operations in IOK. The proactive approach of the people while putting their lives at risk to save their freedom fighters shows that Kashmiris are on one page to get freedom from Indian illegal rule.
