Karachi: In the Purana Golimar area, in an operation the staffers of the Water Board have completely destroyed the big network busy in water theft from the Water Board’s lines purporting in the guise of digging underground water.
Four persons have been arrested and cases against them are being registered in the local police station. Heavy machinery used for digging and lay out of water lines, one heavy generator and thousands of feet pipe have been taken into possession.
According to an announcement of Water Board, Water Board workers launched a big operation against a network supplying water illegally in Old areas of Golimar, Lyari Stream, Bara Board, Pak Colony, Industrial Area and others. The workers of this network were busy in illegally digging the road in Old Golimar to lay out 10 inch diameter line to supply illegally water via Lyari to Bara Board, Pak Colony, industrial area and other areas. On a tip off the staffers of Water Board reached the site. On the arrival of staffers some workers of the net work managed to escape whereas four persons have been nabbed by them.
Concerned Officers and staffers of Water Board were present late into the night in the Pak Colony Thana to register a case against the accused.
