Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan seized 2.66 tons narcotics and 1.92 tons prohibited chemical valuing Rs 4.12 Billion internationally, arrested 32 persons including 3 ladies involved in drug trafficking and impounded 10 vehicles while conducting 27 counter-narcotics strikes across the country. The seized drugs comprised 2030 Kg Opium, 547 Kg Hashish, 83 Kg Heroin, 3 Kg Methamphetamine, 1.24 Kg Amphetamine and 1920 Kg Acetone.
ANF Quetta while carrying out intelligence based operation at mountainous area of Jodar, Tehsil Mashkel, District Washuk seized 1080 Kg Opium and 46 Kg Heroin. The drugs were stocked at an isolated site. In another operation, ANF Quetta intercepted a Toyota Corolla car near Meezan chowk, Quetta and recovered 10 Kg Hashish from secret cavities of the car. A person on board identified as Shah Hussain resident of Pishin was also arrested on the spot. Yet in another operation, ANF Quetta raided a site located in the mountainous area of Pushkan, Tehsil Pasni, District Gawadar and seized 185 Kg Hashish. In fourth operation, ANF Quetta recovered 939 Kg Opium from desolate site situated in the area of Manthu, Tehsil Chaman, District Qilla Abdullah. In fifth operation, ANF Quetta intercepted a land cruiser near Palantak, District Panjgur and seized 15 Kg Heroin concealed in improvised cavities of the vehicle. However, the persons on board managed to flee from the scene taking advantage of the darkness. In sixth operation, ANF Quetta while raiding a deserted hut located at general area of killag, District Panjgur, seized 10 Kg Heroin placed at the site. In addition, ANF Quetta recovered 213 Kg Hashish from ruined house situated at Killi Abdullah Jan, Tehsil and District Pishin. As per initial reports, most of the stocked drugs were intended to be handed over to other narcotics gangs.
ANF Rawalpindi in pursuance of information intercepted two motorcycles near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock and arrested Ijaz Ahmed, Nazo Bibi, Attique Jan and Mohsin Bibi along with 10.5 Kg Opium and 2 Kg Hashish from their possession. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Cultus Car near Kohinoor Mills Bus Stop, Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi and recovered 10 Kg Hashish from secret cavities of the car. Two persons on board identified as Yasin Shah resident of Charsadda and Ikram ud Din resident of Nowshehra were also arrested arrested during the operation.
ANF Lahore on pursuance of a source information raided a house located near Godar Chowk, Multan-DG Khan Road, Muzafargarh and seized 3 Kg Hashish concealed inside the premises. In another operation, ANF Lahore arrested a foreign bound passenger identified as Abdul Whahab resident of Karachi at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 400 Gram Heroin concealed in two Shampoo bottles. The accused was boarding for Sri Lanka by Flight No. UL-186. Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore recovered 2.5 Kg Heroin from a parcel being sent to UK through a private courier service company based at Lahore. Follow-up operation resulted in arrest of an accused sender namely Muhammad Shehzad resident of Lahore. In fourth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a motorcycle near Kamal CNG Gas Point, Khokhar Chowk, Johar Town, Lahore and recovered 6 Kg Hashish from personal possession of the accused identified as Muhammad Afzal resident of Lahore. In fifth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Honda Civic car near Haroon Express Bus Stand, Multan Road, Lahore and recovered 36 Kg Hashish from secret cavities of the car, also arresting the offenders identified as Umar Daraz, Amjad Hayat and Muhammad Abdullah all residents of Khushab. In sixth operation, ANF Lahore arrested Waqar Afzal and Muhammad Arslan both residents of Khushab and recovered 1.2 Kg Hashish from their personal possession. They were arrested near Mitha More, Aadi Kot District Khushab.
ANF Peshawar during routine profiling near motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar arrested Muhammad Bilal resident of Khyber Agency along with 600 Gram Hashish, and a lady namely Parveen Bibi resident of Peshawar along with 2.4 Kg Hashish in two separate operations while they were travelling in passenger vans separately. In another operation, ANF Peshawar Airport Team detained a passenger named as Khaista Rehman resident of Nowshehra at Peshawar Airport while he was boarding for Riyadh by Shaheen Airline Flight no NL-723 and recovered 1.24 Kg Amphetamine concealed on a box containing clothes. Yet in another operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 2.4 Kg Hashish from possession of Mukhtiar Khan resident of Peshawar who was arrested near Rashkai Interchange, Nowshera. In fourth operation, ANF Peshawar while acting upon a tip-off intercepted two cars including Toyota Corolla Fielder and Suzuki Mehran near Pando Chowk, Ring Road, Peshawar and recovered 1.8 Kg and 1.2 Kg Methamphetamine respectively concealed in secret cavities of the cars. Five offenders on board identified as Khan Khel, Jan Muhammad, Majeed Khan residents of Khyber Agency, Ghulam Ullah resident of Peshawar and Wais, an Afghan national were arrested during the operation. In fifth operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 2.4 Kg Hashish and 225 Gram Opium from personal possession of a local drug peddler namely Tariq resident of Peshawar. He was arrested near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. In sixth operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Honda Civic car at University Road, Peshawar, recovering 6 Kg Heroin concealed inside the doors of the car, also arresting an offender named Kamran resident of Peshawar.
ANF Karachi in pursuance of an information raided a private godown situated near Custom House, KPT Ground, Karachi and seized a shipment containing 3.2 Kg Heroin. In another operation, ANF Karachi in collaboration with Pakistan Rangers Sindh recovered 70 Kg Hashish and arrested two persons identified as Khyial Bahadur and Adil Khan both residents of Karachi. Yet in another operation, ANF Karachi in pursuance of information raided a private godown located in the area of West Wharf, Karachi and seized 1920 Kg Acetone from the premises. Two persons identified as Irfan Feroz and Muhammad Faisal both residents of Karachi were taken into custody. The chemical was contained in 32 Jerry canes. In fourth operation, ANF Karachi arrested a local drug supplier named Raaz Muhammad Alias Chando resident of Khairpur and recovered 2 Kg Hashish from his personal possession. The accused was arrested near City Bypass Chowk, Sukkur. In fifth operation, ANF Karachi arrested a local drug peddler identified as Imam Bux resident of Tando Muhammad Khan along with 1.05 Kg Hashish which was found in his personal possession. He was arrested near Isra University, Hyderabad.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway.
