Islamabad: The pollen allergy has reached on its extreme level in Federal Capital Islamabad as pollen count in air recorded to more than 41000.
According to details, as many as 1800 patients affected with pollen allergy have treated in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital in just one day.
While talking to “Morning Mail” PIMS spokesman Dr. Waseem Khawaja has stated that patients affected with pollen has increased in Federal Capital. However, advised allergy patients to avoid wooded areas and where plantation is in abundance.
On the other hand advisory issued to NIH, in the spring, pollen count in the air increases because of trees, dandelion, grass and flowers due to which people face respiratory problems, rash in eyes and red skin.
The residents, especially those with pollen allergy, have been advised to avoid going to gardens and forests and jogging at tracks which are in the green areas. Do not keep flowers and trees in rooms and houses.
The major source of pollen allergy in Islamabad is the paper mulberry due to which in March the amount of pollen can increase to 80,000 per cubic metre (PCM).
