FAISALABAD: The Trade Associations should be brought under the well-considered regulatory setup to protect the fundamental interests of their specific sector, said Mian Javaid Iqbal Former President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI).

Addressing to the members of the Electronics and Installment Association (E&IA) here today, he said that FCCI is an example of strong institution representing the business community of Faisalabad. “Its elections are held every year and “Old Guards” are changed but the smooth functioning of this representative trade body continues uninterrupted under the supervision of newly elected office bearers”, he said and added that FCCI has gained maturity and its system has been strengthened which is now fully competent to protect the legitimate interest of its members. “Other trade associations should also follow the foot prints of FCCI to strengthen their sector specific associations”, he added.

Continuing Mian Javaid Iqbal appreciated the performance of E&IA and said that Pakistan is a big market for electronic products which are being imported from different countries.

“However, 70% electronic products are being imported from Vietnam and we must convince SAMSUNG to setup its manufacturing unit in Pakistan, so that locally manufactured products could catered to our domestic needs in addition to exporting its surplus production.

He was also appreciative of the grant of loans to the small farmers by different banks and NGOs and said that on the same pattern loans should also be doled out to small traders. Admiring the establishment of consumer courts in Pakistan, he said that it is in the best interests of traders linked with the E&IA

Earlier President FCCI Mr. Shabbir Hussain Chawla acknowledged the performance of E&IA and said that our development hinges upon institutionalization and trade associations should also operate strictly in according to their set rules and regulations.

Patting Rana Sikander-e- Azam, he stressed that young entrepreneurs must be encouraged to enter into this challenging field and bring Laurels to their respective organizations with their commitment, sincerity and hard work.

Earlier in his address of welcome Rana Sikander-e- Azam thanked the participants and said that it is a unique honor for him that eight former presidents are attending this meeting.

He also congratulated newly elected Chairman, Secretary and President of E&IA and told that at least 30 members of this association have also got the membership of FCCI while another 15 are completing their required formalities.

The meeting was also attended by Syed Zia Alamdar Hussain, Engineer Rizwan Ashraf, Mian Farhan Latif, Farooq Allah-Wala, Dr. Mehmood Yousaf, Mian Zahid Aslam, Malik Waqas, Chaudhary Maqsood Ahmad Jatt, Syed Khalid Suleman, Ghulam Mustafa, Mian Shoukat Ali, Fahad Ali, Rana Fakhar Ayaz, Muhammad Naeem, Amanat Ali, Awais Ahmed, Mian Nazakat, Habib ur Rehman, Muhammad Anwer, Maqsood Ahmad, Chaudhary Akraam, Engineer Sohail Bin Rasheed, Khalid Naveed, Zafar Sarwar, Khalid Habib Sheikh and Ghazanfar Ali Awan.
