Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that Legislation regarding Finality of Prophet Hood (S.A.W.W) was not against any minority saying that legislation in this regard was must to put an end to Fitna Qadyaniyat once and for all.
“None of the PPP members of legislative assembly were present in the session during the voting of this bill”, the AJK PM said while addressing a press conference in Prime Minister Secretariat here on Wednesday. Minister for Public Works, Chaudhry Mohammad Aziz, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Ch. Mohammad Saeed and Member Assembly Chaudhry Shahzad Mahmood were also accompanied the PM.
PM AJK stated that this law draft was first presented in assembly floor for discussion and then after concluding suggestions from different learned religious scholars. He pointed out that “this bill was approved with joint consensus and is not against any minority”.
Prime Minister stated that the role of the opposition in the joint session on 5th February was embarrassing which significantly reduced the importance of this important day. He said that there was no member of the PPP during the approval of this Bill, and the PPP voters should ask their representatives as why did not they participate in the voting.
“February 5th was the occasion of national solidarity to bring the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Muzaffarabad, whenever the PPP’s Asif Ali Zardari, as President of Pakistan, visited here, we never talked like this” PM AJK maintained. He said that Asif Ali Zardari has become inauspicious for the whole country; he has been proved worst for Bhutto family. He said that as the Senate elections were around the corner, PPP was busy in horse trading as has been observed in Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
About the property tax imposed in AJK, PM AJK stated, “The property tax was imposed by PPP in 2015 and now they are harping against it, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Minister of Sports Chaudhry Mohammad Saeed, who will present his suggestions in the cabinet regarding the imposition of property tax.”
“We have given rules to make accountability bureau a strong institution, which have been challenged in the court” PM lamented.
While answering a question of municipal elections, Prime Minister asserted that new voter lists are being prepared to hold municipal elections to put in place good municipal systems.
While Condemning the language used against President PML-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in PPP public gathering in Lahore, saying that Asif Ali Zardari is not only an ulcer for party but for the whole country, it is a lie that PPP was established on Kashmir, but it has become issue for both sides after Simla treaty.
On the reservations of the minority rights in the bill by the members of Muslim Conference, the Prime Minister said that Muslim Conference does not know the history of Kashmir, no any religion whatsoever including Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and others is affected by this bill, it is now a part of the AJK Interim Constitution Act 1974 which only serves the constitutional and administrative needs of the independent region.
“This interim constitution does not belong to the areas of Gilgit-Baltistan or occupied Kashmir, This is temporary constitutional until the liberation of Kashmir to meet its administrative needs” PM AJK added.
Prime Minister stated that major portion of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s speech at the UN was about Kashmir and people say Sharif did not talk about Kashmir. “This is totally baseless and against the reality, Pakistani nation’s aspirations were well interpreted in our public gathering, whereas the language used by PPP leadership in Lahore public gathering was very shameful and appalling”, he said.
Prime Minister reiterated that Indian firing on line-of control was a matter of serious concern; Government of Pakistan must take this matter in the Security Council. “11500 houses have already been affected by unprovoked Indian firing”, he said adding that financial assistance will be provided to affectees so that they could be able to make safety bunkers”.
Prime Minister added that a constitutional committee has been formed for necessary amendments in Interim Constitution Act 1974 and he will meet Prime Minister Pakistan soon to discuss the matter.
