“Says JUD is not involved in any illegal activities”
Lahore: Ameer Jamaat ud Dawa (JuD) Hafiz Muhammad Saeed on Tuesday announced to launch countrywide campaign to expresses solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
“The sole purpose of this nation-wide campaign starting from 2nd-11th of February is to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren who are engaged in a legitimate struggle for right to self-determination”, Saeed said this while holding a press conference, held at Markaz Al-Qadsia. Head political affairs JuD Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, Moulana Ameer Hamza and Abul Hashim Rabbani were also present.
He offered UN team to visit any centre in Pakistan, adding that we do not do any illegal work. “Doors of Educational Complex of Markaz Taiba and our all centers in Pakistan are open for everyone.” He said.
He said, “Plans to freeze and takeover the assets of JuD and Falah e Insaniat Foundation, have been conceived due to external pressures. In past, our rulers accepted the US Do more mantra, and now same policy is being followed regarding India’s dictates against JuD. The UN delegation’s arrival for the review of restrictions on JuD has been used by the Government as a pretext of all its anti-JuD actions. Government is trying to make fool of the people as it is not the first time rather these delegations come every year. This alos depict difference Pakistan and India’s approach towards UN resolutions. There is a plethora of UN resolutions on Kashmir but India simply doesn’t care.”
He also slammed Indian army of massacring Kashmiris in the valley and urged the Government of Pakistan to raise a vehement voice and give a strong message to New Delhi.
He also announced to observe 2018 for Kashmiris and said that we will hold all parties conferences and seminars to keep the issue in limelight. Similarly, at district level, programs and rallies will be arranged. ‘Martyrdom Days’ on the anniversary of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Butt will also be observed on 9th and 11th of February respectively.
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed called the ban on media coverage of JuD and its activities illegal. He said, “We are under observation in Pakistan rather proscribed. Why we have been banned? We will keep standing on the footings of right and truth. We have filed a petition in High Court regarding Government’s steps and expected restrictions on the arrival of US delegation.”
Urging the Interior Minister to present the courts’ decision in the UN, he said, “Supreme Court and High Court have given their verdicts many times in our favor, why the world not giving our courts’ decisions any worth? Interior Minister seems to be inspired by Indian propaganda rather than our apex courts’ decisions. It appears as if the minister has short of time to read the courts’ judgments?”
He further said, “Last year, I announced to observe year 2017 for Kashmir. After this announcement, I and allies were put under house arrest. On the other side of border, India detained Kashmiri leaders whereas Pakistan detained me. After release of 10 months’ detention, I announced to raise a forceful voice for Kashmir. When I declared 2018 as the year of Kashmir’s freedom, India accelerated its propaganda campaign against us. Israel and US have also embraced the India’s vicious course and un uproar has been created on so-called Islamic extremism.”
He said, “Israel has announced to support Indian surgical strike. After agreement between India and Israel, intensive firing has been witnessed at Line of Control. India’s foreign policy seems to be revolving around only ’Hafiz Saeed’ and my only issue with India is Kashmir.”
He said, “We are serving the humanity in whole country. Monthly ration, free education and healthcare facilities are being provided to Kashmiri Refugees since last 7 years. Government is not giving any aid.” He called India killer of thousands of Kashmiris.
