ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked why the state is worried about illegal occupants of land donated for educational purposes.
A 3-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took up for hearing a case filed against occupation of 99 kanals and 10 marla land donated for educational purposes in Gujranwala.
The CJP remarked Mian Rehmat Ali had donated 99 kanals, 10 marla land for educational purposes in 1947. The land was donated by Chaudhry Rehmat Ali and not by Baba Rehmte.
He further observed “ a kachchi abadi has been constructed on the land donated for educational purposes. Plazas have been constructed on donated land. Why Punjab government is defending illegal occupation of donated land. Why the state is worried for occupants. Take the bulldozers and demolish the illegal constructions
The court ordered DC Gujranwala to complete the survey of donated land and file detailed report thereof. The situation be made clear through pictures therein.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till January 18.
