ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has made Dr Asim respondent in Medical Colleges admission policy and existence of PMDC case and summoned him on January 10.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) took up the case for hearing Monday.

During the course of hearing of the case, Akram Sheikh counsel for PMDC said PMDC laws were amended in 2012. PMDC has been made hostage by representatives of private medical colleges.

CJP remarked who was head of PMDC when the laws were amended.

PMDC counsel told the court Dr Asim Hussain was head in 2012.

CJP remarked where were doctors when this was being done with medical department.

Dr Mubashar said 3 fatal attacks of medical colleges met failure.

CJP remarked “ it is my desire that deadly attack on me succeeds. Doctor is Messiah. If the medical colleges are established on wrong basis then expert doctors will come from where. Hustle and bustle in the world is due to life. We want such a solution is found which is better for health department. The foreign universities don’t recognise us. Because give money and take degree system is in place here. People of Pakistan are wise. Lawyers should obtain fee but in the court there will be talk of law. I wish that I should nullify admissions into private medical colleges. Every medical college is giving admission on its sweet will.

Akram Sheikh told the court there was no law in the country to regulate private medical colleges.

The court while summoning the details of universities which have allowed affiliation to medical colleges adjourned the hearing of the case till today.
