Information Ministry orders ED, Lok Virsa to leave office till Feb 15
Islamabad : The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected the application of Executive Director Lok Virsa regarding extension of contract and ordered her to leave the office till February 15.
On the other hands, Ibrahim, an employee of Lok Virsa had filed a writ petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging the appointment of Fauzia Saeed, Executive Director Lok Virsa stating that her appointment was made against the merit.
“Fauzia Saeed was an employee of Lok Virsa few years before. An inquiry against her was conducted in which she was declared guilty and as a result, she resigned from her job”, petition added and maintained that on the basis of links with some ministers approach, she rejoined Lok Virsa as Executive Director and during three years, she terminated over 10 government employees who were against her during her last tenure in Lok Virsa.
The IHC has issued repeated notices to Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and sought reply in this regard but the Ministry did not submit its reply about the appointment of Fauzia Saeed as Executive Director. The next hearing of the case would be held on 15th January.
The court on last hearing has issued final warning and directed Secretary Information to submit reply.
In the meanwhile, the Ministry has rejected the renewal of her contract and ordered to leave the office till Feb, 15.
