ISLAMABAD: The details of sealed letter sent by Qatari prince Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim to Wajid Zia has been presented before the Accountability Court (AC) during the course of hearing of references against Sharif family.
While filing the details of sealed envelope director foreign ministry Afaq Ahmad told the court that Abdul Hamid Abdul Rashid secretary to Qatari prince came up to Pakistan embassy in Doha on May, 28, 2017 and handed over sealed letter written by Qatari prince to embassy. Pakistan embassy sent this letter to Wajid Zia on May, 30.
JIT sent a letter to foreign secretary on May 31 and I was summoned, he said adding I appeared before JIT on June, 01 under the directives of foreign secretary and recorded my statement.
Khawaja Haris the legal advisor to Sharif family raised objection over the documents presented therein that letter was written to foreign ministry and not that witness.
The representative of foreign ministry told the court no one has opened sealed envelope of Qatari prince.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also appeared before the court.
