Muzaffarabad: Learning never finishes and fresh inventions have been observed every day in this era of technology through Research, said by the Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Farooq Haider Khan in an inaugural ceremony of faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology in University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) here on Monday.
Vice Chancellor University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Kaleem Abbasi also addressed the event while Dean Faculty of Arts Dr. Ayesha Sohail briefed the Prime Minister about UAJK.

Prime Minister said that development of the State is possible only by leading in modern education of Science and Technology, “world is fronting population, environmental and health issues and only modern research can reduce the risk of human life; secret behind developed countries is only owing to advancement in Science and Technology.”

Prime Minister maintained that every entrepreneur thrives with knowledge and experience, adding that he uttered that students should work for competitive research work, all famous leaders are the formation of these educational institutes.

Prime Minister appreciated the performance of UAJK, saying that it is quite difficult to maintain and expand the prestige and dignity of any autonomous organization, UAJK is one of the renowned university of Pakistan, “funds for the auditorium of University besides issues concerning to the construction of King Abdullah University will be settled before long; courses of different languages will be conducted soon in collaboration with European University” Prime Minister reiterated.

Keeping in view the need for time, the University should start new faculties so that our students can compete in the field of education in the world, PM said adding that students should use positive technology and take it as social responsibility.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor UAJK Dr. Kaleem Abbasi said that this university is listed among the reputable universities of Pakistan, he apprised that 70% expenses of the university are met by own resources while 30% by Higher Education Commission. “HEC evaluation committee has recognized all departments of UAJK which is an honor for us; UAJK have 77 Ph.d Scholars in different faculties while this amount is expected to increase up to 200 by 2019.” VC added.

Building for the department of Computer Science and Information Technology has been made with the total cost of 32.270 million rupees. Vice Chancellor presented the Memorial shield of University to the Prime Minister at the end of the ceremony.
