Ankara: The Turkish armed forces claimed that at least 80 terrorists were killed in airstrikes conducted on Kurdish militant’s hideouts in northern Iraq on Wednesday.

The PKK has started a rebellion movement inside Turkey since 1984 and the organization is blacklisted as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
After the collapse of a two-year ceasefire in 2015, Turkish military operations against the PKK intensified in southeastern Turkey. Turkish forces regularly conducted airstrikes against PKK militants who have rear bases in the Qandil mountain area of Iraq.
