Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) ANF Pakistan in 12 counter-narcotics operations carried out across the country recovered 298 Kg drugs amounting Rs. 400 Million in international market, while arrested 13 drug offenders including a foreigners and impounded 3 vehicles. The seized drugs comprised of 257 Kg Hashish, 8 Kg Heroin, 25 Kg Cannabis, 7.4 Kg Amphetamine and 1.3 Kg Methamphetamine.
ANF Rawalpindi arrested a foreign bound passenger identified as Muhammad Asim Ahmdi resident of Netherland at Benazir Bhuttu International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 4.5 Kg Heroin which was concealed inside his trolley bag. The accused intended to board for Canada by PIA flight No. PK-78. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi apprehended two accused namely Abdul Qayyum resident of Sargodha and Mukhtiar resident of Mardan at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad while they were boarding for Saudi Arabia by Saudi Airlines flight No. SV-723 and recovered 1.5 Kg amphetamine which was concealed in their trolley bag. In third operation, ANF Rawalpindi in collaboration with ASF arrested an accused namely Rafique Khan resident of Kurram Agency at Benazir Bhuttu International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 1.785 Kg Amphetamine which was concealed in his trolley bag. The accused intended to board for Saudi Arabia by Saudi Airlines flight No. SV-723. In fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused namely Mian Saeed resident of Bunner and recovered 1.48 Kg Amphetamine from the accused. The accused was travelling to Saudi Arabia by Saudi Airlines flight No. SV-723. In fifth operation, ANF Rawalpindi in collaboration with ASF arrested a passenger identified as Umer Gul resident of Swabi at Benazir Bhuttu International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 1.5 Kg Amphetamine concealed in his trolley bag. The accused intended to board for Saudi Arabia by Shaheen Airlines flight No. NL-705. In sixth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested two foreign bound passengers identified as Muhammad Riaz resident of Sargodha and Lady accused Abida Shaheen resident of Khushab at Benazir Bhuttu International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 1.265 Kg Amphetamine which was concealed in their trolley bags. The accused intended to board for Saudi Arabia by flight No. EK-613.
ANF Lahore recovered 25 Kg Cannabis by arresting an accused identified as Shahzad Hussain resident of Faisalabad from General Bus Stand, Sargodha Road, Faisalabad. In another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted 3 motorcyclists riding two separate Motorcycles at Aurangzeb Road, Shalimar Town, Lahore and recovered 7.2 Kg Hashish from personal possession of three accused namely Muhammad Safdar, Chaudhary Qaib-e-Abbas and Irfan Ali all residents of Lahore. In third operation, ANF Lahore in an intelligence based operation carried out at Wahgha Border Railway Station, Lahore and seized 2.9 Kg Heroin. According to details, the drugs were intended to be handed over to another narcotics gang.
ANF Peshawar in an intelligence based operation conduct at new Toll Plaza, Kohat seized 250 Kg Hashish from a Bedford Truck. The accused escaped from the spot taking advantage of Darkness.
ANF Karachi arrested an accused namely Saif Ilahi resident of Lahore at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi and recovered 1.315 Kg Methamphetamine, which was concealed in a pot possessed by the accused. The arrested accused intended to fly for Saudi Arabia by flight No. WY-322. In another operation, ANF Karachi recovered 520 Grams Heroin from personal possession of an accused identified as Muhammad Ali resident of Shikarpur. The accused apprehended near Rustam Chowk, opposite PSO Petrol Pump, Shikarpur.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are underway.
