Call for early resolution of K-dispute in line with UN resolutions

Muzaffarabad/Mipur: Kashmiris on both sides of line of control and the world over observed Jammu Martyrs Day today to commemorate the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri Muslims who were mercilessly killed by extremist Hindus and Sikhs, aided and abetted by the forces of the Dogra Maharaja.

In this connection a memorial reference followed by a protest rally was organized in the capital city Muzaffarabad under the aegis of Kashmir Liberation Cell here on Monday as Government of AJK announced public holiday.

Minister for Social Welfare Azad Jammu and Kashmir Mrs. Noreen Arif was the chief guest of the event, whereas students and teacher belonging to different schools along with citizens participated enormously. Secretary Kashmir Liberation Cell Idrees Abbasi, Shaukat Javed Mir, Mushtaq ul Islam Uzair Ahmed Ghazali and other significant persons addressed the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Noreen Arif said, “Freedom movement of Kashmir is actually Pakistan’s movement; this day (6 November 1947) is a darkest chapter in the history of Jammu when thousands of Muslims were killed by extremist Hindu and Sikhs in cold blood.”
Mrs. Noreen said that since 1947 Kashmiris have been creating history by offering supreme sacrifices every day. The martyrdom of Burhan Muzaffar Wani she said has given a new direction to the Kashmir Freedom movement. She said that India must stop human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and pave a way for holding plebiscite in the region so that people could be able to exercise their birth right guranteed to them by the world community.
Admiring the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, she said that today we also express our full confidence in the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif, who raised the voice in favour of Kashmiris in a befitting manner in the UN general assembly. The present Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi she said also projected the Kashmir issue in the United Nations”

Jammu Martyrs Day was marked in Azad Jammu & Kashmir with a mammoth ceremony hosted at the town hall in Mirpur Azad Jammu & Kashmir under the auspices of Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Movement and Jammu & Kashmir Milli Forum with the AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan as Chief guest and former Prime Minister and All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan in the chair.

Paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir, speakers including the AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, the chair and ex Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, AJK minister for sports and Culture Ch. Muhammad Saeed, minister for food Syed Shoukat Ali Shah, MLA Ch. Rukhsar Hussain, Representative of Occupied Kashmir-based Muslim Conference Ishtiaq Hameed, Convener Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Movement AJK and Pakistan Chapter Dr. Zahid Ghani Dar, APHC Jammu region chapter leader Muhammad Aslam Malik, Shabir Chaichi and others said that the best way to pay tributes to the martyrs of Jammu is to follow their foot steps with the renewal of the pledge to continue the struggle for achievement of the birth right of self determination for reaching to the Kashmiris ultimate destination of Pakistan – for which the people of Jammu & Kashmir starting giving the supreme sacrifices of their lives.

Speakers recalled that the people of Jammu & Kashmir had decided with firm stand to attach their destiny with Pakistan even before the emergence of the country through unanimously approving July 19, 1947 historical resolution of accession of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan in Srinagar. Seeking complete unity and solidarity among all the political parties of Azad Jammu & Kashmir on one point agenda of the freedom of Jammu & Kashmir and the settlement of Kashmir issue in line with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, speakers underlined that the people of Jammu & Kashmir can perform an affective and result-oriented role for the settlement of the much-delayed Kashmir issue and they should be granted an opportunity to perform the national responsibility to this direction.

Speakers called upon the international community to sincerely move for performing due global obligations to ensure the early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue which involves the right to self determination of about 20 million people of Jammu & Kashmir.

Speakers urged upon the world community and the international organizations to take immediate notice of the continued Indian state terrorism unleashed against the innocent freedom-loving people in occupied Jammu & Kashmir for their “offense” of raising voice for liberation of the motherland from the Indian yoke and for the achievement of their birth right of self determination.

They called upon the comity of nations to perform its due global obligations to get the right of self determination granted to Kashmiris, which India is denying since last seven decades by deviating from all international norms and commitments and for which (right of self determination), the Kashmiris are fighting since last 70 years.

They urged upon the international community to perform their due obligations for ensuring early peaceful settlement of Kashmir dispute in the larger interest of the everlasting peace in the world in general and South Asia in particular.

Speakers said that best way to pay glorious tributes to the martyrs is to continue their mission till occupied land of Jammu & Kashmir is liberated from the long Indian subjugation.

The participants offered fateha for raising the status of the departed souls of the martyrs of Jammu & Kashmir and the early success of the freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir for the freedom of motherland from the Indian subjugation.

Earlier, the day dawned with special prayers, at Fajr, in all the prominent mosques for the early liberation of occupied Jammu Kashmir from Indian yoke through success of Kashmir freedom movement, progress, prosperity and stability of Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Fateh Khawani was offered at various places for the rest of the departed souls of Jammu and Kashmir martyrs – under the auspices of various social, political and public representative organizations.
