Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has rejected the new ordinance promulgated by the occupation authorities under which the organizers of protests will be liable for imprisonment and fine.
According to KMS, the Governor of occupied Kashmir, N N Vohra, has promulgated an ordinance which says that the organisers of protests would be punished with imprisonment for a period of two to five years or a fine.
The resistance leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar, today, said, shutdown is the Universal Democratic Right to register peaceful protest and Hurriyat leaders would use this right despite such threats. They said that invoking of black laws could not intimidate the Kashmiri people and their leadership into submission.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, addressing various delegations and public meetings in Pulwama, Kakapora and Samboora areas said that the use of brute force by Indian troops to suppress the Kashmiris’ peaceful liberation struggle should serve as an eye-opener for all the civilized and democratic nations of the world.
India’s National Investigation Agency has summoned prominent freedom leader, Syed Salahuddin’s grandson, Muzamil Ahmed Khan, for questioning on false charges. The NIA has already arrested Syed Saluddin’s son, Syed Shahid Yousuf, after summoning him New Delhi. The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the action calling it a ploy to harass and scare the resistance leadership. The family members and relatives of Salahuddin have said that
they would tender their court arrest if the puppet authorities failed to stop their harassment by the NIA.
