MIRPUR (AJK): In Lake view city of Mirpur, major ceremony to observe the 70th founding anniversary of Azad government of the state of Jammu & Kashmir was held Tuesday morning at the Municipal Corporation lawn under the auspices of National Events Organizing Committee with the coordination of the Municipal Corporation and other nation-building institutions.

The chief guest – Commissioner Mirpur Division Muhammad Tayyeb and DIG Police Mirpur Range hoisted the national flags of Pakistan and AJK . The ceremony was attended among others by the visiting Kashmir-born Lord Mayor of Bradford city administrator Ch. Abid Hussain Jamaati, city administrator Muhammad Yasin Chaudhry, DC Ansar Yaqoob, SSP Raja Irfan Salim, ADC (G) Raja Farooq Akram, Acting Divisional Director PID Mirpur Javeid Malik, social and political activists, the city elite including representatives of the diverse segments of the civil society.

A full dressed contingent of AJK police presented salute to the national flag of Pakistan and AJK. A most impressive band by local school children presented the national anthem of Pakistan through the beautiful lyrics.

Sweet meats were distributed on this occasion besides exchanging felicitations to each other.

While expressing his views on the great significance of the day on this occasion Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Tayyeb recalled, while talking to this Correspondent, that the Kashmiris were continuing their indigenous and historic struggle for freedom in the occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir for the liberation of the motherland from the long Indian subjugation.

He said that it was the due global responsibility of the freedom and human rights loving comity of nations to help the people of the Jammu & Kashmir state seeking liberation from the Indian clutches and afford them opportunity to decide their future in line with the U.N resolutions on Kashmir.

Highlighting the chapters of the history which make the state of Jammu & Kashmir an integral part of Pakistan through historical, geographical, religious territorial and all other natural links, Muhammad Tayyeb said that the United Nations should fulfill its due obligations and global promise without any further delay in line with its resolutions.
