Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that we want to make our masses skillful; it is not possible to eradicate poverty and unemployment without technical education, government is paying special attention to skilled youth.

Prime Minister expressed these views while discussing the meeting of Vice Chancellors of Pakistan’s Engineering Universities. The delegation consist of Vice Chancellor NED University Karachi Prof. Surosh Hashmat Lodhi, Vice Chancellor Sir Syed University Dr. Afzal Haq, Director Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute Professor Javed A. Chatta, Vice Chancellor University of Engineering & Technology Lahore Dr. Sohail Aftab Qureshi, Registrar Pakistan Engineering Council Engineer Khadim H. Bhatti, Lieutenant Colonel (R) Haq Nawaz Pakistan Engineering Council Head Quarter Islamabad, while Additional Chief Secretary Development Dr. Syed Asif Shah, Principal Secretary with Prime Minister Ehsan Khalid Kayani, Secretary Works Tariq Shola and others were present on the occasion.

“There is a dire need to increase quota of Azad Kashmir in engineering universities of Pakistan. Development and important technical issues in Azad Kashmir need assistance from these engineering universities”, the Prime Minister opined.

He said that the government has decided to give technical education to masses to eliminate unemployment in the state. Pakistan’s engineering universities and institutions have played a vital role in the rehabilitation after earthquake.

Raja Farooq Haider Khan also discussed the history of Azad Kashmir, the political, administrative and ideological structure. Referring to Kashmir freedom of movement, the Prime Minister said that Indian forces are involved in massive violations of human rights inside the occupied Kashmir.

He said, “Youths are being blinded with a pellet guns and women braid chopping are their common diversionary acts these days. Kashmir stands like a wall mounted in front of all these conspiracies.”

Vice Chancellors on the occasion said that in the re-construction of buildings in Azad Kashmir, the Kashmir-based construction and development and other matters, we will provide full technical support to the state and will also support to raise the quota of Azad Kashmir in Pakistani engineering universities. Prime Minister Azad Kashmir gave luncheon in the honor of the delegation.
