Sudhan Tribe was at the forefront of liberation struggle says AJK PM

“PM addresses a public gathering at Thorar, in AJK, pays eulogizing tributes to martyrs, recalls sacrifices of valiant freedom fighters who were flayed alive, says saga of sacrifice and bravery would be written in golden letters in the annals of Kashmir history”

Thorar (Kotli): (Parliament Times) The prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that the people from all segments of the society had participated in the freedom struggle of 1947; however, Sudhan tribe of the region has a unique privilege and honour to spearhead this historic movement of national liberation.

AJK PM made these assertions while addressing a huge public gathering here on the occasion of Youm e Shohda Thorar here on Thursday. Member Kashmir Council Abdul Khaliq Wassi presided the event and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Sardar Riaz Roshan was the stage secretary.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the valiant people of this region had rendered matchless sacrifices to get the territory liberated from the clutches of Dogra ruler. Referring to hard-fought battle against Dogra army at Thorar the PM said that 36 freedom fighters including woman freedom fighter Hussain BB embraced martyrdom while fighting the enemy. This saga of sacrifice and bravery, he said, would be written in golden letters in the annals of Kashmir history.

Paying eulogizing tributes to the martyrs the AJK PM said, “We owe it to those martyrs who had sacrificed their today for our tomorrow, who sacrificed their lives and liberated this territory”. The PM AJK said that besides resolving the problems of common masses the incumbent government’s mandate is to take the mission of martyrs’ to its logical conclusion. “It is our collective responsibility to educate the young generation about our ancestors’ sacrifices, struggle and their peerless contribution in liberating the motherland”, he said.

Raja Farooq Haider Khan said, “We are committed to implement merit, law and justice within the State and intend for the development. He said that we will not tolerate any kind of in-justice with anybody”.

He said that the PML-N had appointed a highly revered personality of the region and a seasoned diplomat par excellence as the president of Azad Kashmir who he said has been using his all out efforts and energies to highlight Kashmir cause both at national and international level.

He said that people of this region (thorar) raised the banner of revolt against Dogra ruler. “History bears witness to the fact that the Dogra army peeled off the skin of valiant freedom fighters and hung their heads on the trees”, he said adding that I have the honor to issue the notification of “Darul Jihad Rawalkot” where voice of rebellion was raised for the first time against Maharaja Hari Singh. Referring to the spirit of freedom fighters he said Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed was one of those brave sons of the soil who denied changing his clothes and eating food until they get liberation from Dogra Raj.
He said that Colonel Khan Muhammad Khan played vital role in educating the people of this region. Khan Muhammad Khan he said was the first person who laid the foundation of Sudhan Education Conference with the sole purpose of educating common people. “That is the reason that the literacy rate of this area is very high as compared to other areas of the region”, the PM said adding that Moulana Ab. Aziz Thorarvi, Moulana Muhammad Yousuf, Colonel Shair Ahmed, Major Bostan and Captain Hussain Khan have played vital role in the freedom movement.

Raja Farooq Haider Khan said,” My father Raja Haider Khan accompanied Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan for the stability of democracy; who lead the Kashmir freedom movement and resulted in liberation of this area of Kashmir.”

PM AJK said that distribution of development funds in all constituencies of the state would be equal and we will continue to work for merit. He said that we introduced NTS systems which build up the confidence in masses. He said that an honest and intelligent person is appointed as Chairman Azad Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (AJKPSC).

He assured the people of the areas that his government will sort out all problems of the people of Thorar on priority basis. Masses of Thorar thanked PM AJK for his visit to Thorar and very warmly welcomed him on his arrival. Meanwhile, the AJK PM while recognizing the demand of local population announced the construction of a Tahesil level Hospital in the Thorar subdivision.
